A graphic Design Distraction: custom Stargrave character sheets.

I’ve “finished” my Stargrave crew (with 3 free/ empty crew slots), but I still had the itch to keep working on it. Reading over the Stargrave rules I was getting ready to fill out my character sheets. The ones included are perfectly serviceable, but I thought that I- a man with no graphic design experience- could make something a bit more spicy (Spicier?).

So, inspired by the character stat screens from the PSP entries to the Metal Gear Solid series, I jumped on to Canva (not sponsored, sadly) and threw together what you see below. I really liked the dossier style to the MGS games character screens, which includes a little passport photo style picture and I knew that I wanted something similar for my own character sheets. I could have used an actual photo of the miniature- which would have been the most clear, but least artistic approach- but in the end I opted to use AI image generation to inject a bit of life and character to the whole thing.

I’m sure that some people might find the lack of a unified art style grating, but for me I find that the images I got work well enough.
