Corvus Belli Infinity
As promised in the Anima Tactics article, we’re finally going to have an article on Corvus Belli’s Infinity, henceforth just “Infinity”. Produced in Spain, the game focuses on small squads of special forces type operatives, with the game making extensive use of scatter terrain and LOS blocking scenery. Players are encouraged to think tactically and always pay attention as there are numerous opportunities to take interrupting actions during an opponent’s turn.
Moving on from the game, the miniatures themselves are quite detailed. Almost all are white metal and come in many separate parts, which can make them somewhat difficult to assemble given the less exaggerated proportions of the models.
Other than that there isn’t much to complain about, the details are crisp, the poses are dynamic, or at least interesting, and most of the models come with a peg sculpted on to one or both feet that allow for strong attachment to a base. Speaking of bases, I’m quite pleased with the double yellow line base that I painted for the lizard TAG. It doesn’t look too realistic, but it adds a nice bit of interest to an otherwise untextured base.
From top to bottom the pictures in this article show an example of a unit from 3 of the game’s 9 factions. The first, the Lizard TAG belongs to the nomad faction, a space based fleet faction. The second is a Pan Oceanian ORC, which is some kind of heavy infantry troop I believe. Lastly is a heavy infantry soldier from the Ariadna faction which is descended from a mixture of American, Russian, French and Scottish settlers who became stranded on a distant world during mankind’s early space colonisation efforts in-universe. I’m not too clued up on the lore, but those descriptions should be roughly accurate.
I have some terrain on the way as well as a second game board in the making that will match well with Infinity, so keep your eyes peeled for more Infinity related posts in the near future.
