Kyoushuneko Miniatures and Ogryn for scale

This week is a departure from the recently painted figures to show off a walker from the Kyoushuneko miniatures STL range. This is the 32mm scale version, with ogryn for scale. It’s a nice chunky print that needed a little bit of sanding to properly fit together. As you can see, it is quite large, so for that reason I made a rectangular base from foam hardened with baking soda and super glue that is large enough for two neodymium magnets.

I picked up this ogryn second hand for the game Shadow war: Armageddon, but that game died very quickly due to lack of support. Ironically, the ruleset was very popular, being an almost exact replica of old Necromunda rules. Many people believe that this game was used to test the water for the return of Necromunda, which did not use the same ruleset as the 1995 original when it returned in the form of Necromunda: Underhive in 2017.

With that short aside on the history of Necromunda concluded, I’ll say that this was the first figure with large areas of exposed skin that I was actually happy with. I find it quite difficult to find the middle ground between cartoonishly exaggerated and invisibly subtle when highlighting skin.
