Monster hunter carry case

Today I have something different, a bit of historical preservation if you will. These are the PSP sleeve and pouch bag that came with the special edition PSP 2000 in Japan along with the bronze psp (which I do not have). Apart from the occasional Ebay auction there are very few pictures of these bags on the internet, which I think is a bit of a shame.

The bags are both made from some kind of synthetic fibre (nylon?) with fake brown leather accents, which despite the the overall good care that these have been treated with before reaching me, have started to perish. The interior of both pouches are lined with some kind of soft felt so as not to scratch any screens.

This kind of practical merchandise is really interesting to me, it’s like a window into the past of the franchise. If you look at a modern monster hunter console carry case you’ll see that they’re much bigger, designed to accommodate larger consoles like the switch or Wii/ Wii U (no longer “modern, but still”. It’s a bit of a shame, as these are nice little organizational bags that could hold all sorts of useful items.
